Insurance Law - Defense
The focus of several Butler, Vines and Babb attorneys is in the area of defense, representing both insurance companies and individuals or companies in matters such as automobile accidents, property damage claims, products liability, and workers compensation claims.
More than 30 insurance companies are among our clients. We routinely service the entire state of Tennessee, with a firm-owned airplane at our disposal, and are prepared to handle any insurance related matter from simple automobile accident cases to complex litigation involving state of the art technology and requiring sophisticated litigation support. While we try many cases, we are also sensitive to our clients' interests in concluding lawsuits at the least possible cost through negotiation, arbitration or mediation.
In addition, we represent insured employers, qualified self-insurers and workers' compensation insurance carriers in all aspects of workers' compensation administration and litigation.
Finally, a portion of the firm's practice involves defending manufacturers, designers and sellers in lawsuits arising out of alleged defects in their products. Our representation includes manufacturers of many types of mechanical equipment, medical devices, chemicals, drugs, aviation and other products.
The unique combination at Butler, Vines and Babb of serving both injured parties and insurance companies and their insureds can enable all of our attorneys to gain appreciation for the tactics and methods typically used by the opposition in such litigation, thus serving as a potential advantage to our clients in both areas.
Butler, Vines and Babb attorneys that tend to focus on defense work for the firm include Martin Ellis, Steve Johnson, James Wright, Ned Babb, and John Butler.
